As a little girl my favorite thing was to play dress-up. My dress-up trunk was full of 50's fashion that was passed down to me- I think I was 6yrs old at the time. There were strapless satin party dresses, hats, gloves, stoles, pocket books, amazing high heels and incredible fashion jewelry that now as I look back- it all was truly incredible. I would play for hours inventing new outfits as I imagined my fancy lady and where her adventure would take her that day. I still have faint scars on both knees where I wiped out on the sidewalk, as I attempted to walk in full garb to hear my high heels clicking on the concrete. A girly girl was born then and now through Polyvore I continue the magic and wonder that only playing dress-up holds. PS* My first grandchild, Charlotte was born Dec 2013. You can bet I will be hunting for amazing vintage inspired pieces to create a “Dress-up Trunk” for her, just like grandma had... or is it, Glam-ma?
